Enterprise Homelab

A hands-on enterprise-style homelab built to practice networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, monitoring, and infrastructure design.

Project Overview

This project is my ongoing enterprise-style home lab used to develop practical experience with systems administration, networking, virtualization, cybersecurity, and infrastructure design.

Rather than being a collection of disconnected devices, the lab is designed as a small enterprise network where every system serves a purpose and supports real administrative workflows.

Problem

Many IT concepts are difficult to learn through documentation alone.

I wanted an environment where I could safely deploy services, redesign network architecture, practice troubleshooting, and experiment without impacting production systems.

Challenges

Designing the network architecture while keeping management traffic separated from client devices required careful planning. Building the environment also required balancing enterprise best practices with available hardware.

Current Status

The lab is actively expanding as I continue learning enterprise infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and cybersecurity.

What I Learned

This project has significantly improved my understanding of systems administration, networking, virtualization, infrastructure design, and troubleshooting by applying concepts in a real environment rather than only studying theory.
